Background of Koshy Thomas: Having graduation in commerce and sound business knowledge through looking after his father business.

HISTORY OF CONCERN: The Business was started by Mr.T.T.Thomas father of Mr.K.T.Thomas 20 years back, then it was converted into partnership firm on 04-04-1998. whose partners are Mr. Kosy Thomas and his brother Mr. Lalu Thomas with branches in Tuticorin & Cochin. Later it was converted into Proprietor Concern.

Nature of Business Activity: Clearing & Forwarding

Mode of Operation: Exports.

After received the export documents from the exporter we will file the papers with customs. Authorities for customs clearance, after getting the permission, booking will be made with steamer agents for containers. The containers transported to exporter factory or cfs where Export materials will be stuffed after the inspection of the customs authorities. Ocean freight amount will be collected from exporters on behalf of Steamer Agents and payment will be handed over to Steamer Agents.

After sailing the Shipping Bill and Bill of Lading should be collected and handed over to Exporters. In this Operation we have to meet the all incidental and transport expenses. Then the service bill will raised against the Exporter once the containers sailed.

Operation: Imports.

After receiving the importer documents , purchase order, packing list , invoice and bill of lading we approach the Steamer Agent for obtaining the delivery order. After paying delivery order charges , the materials in the containers will be transported the exporter’s.

Places once the customs formalities completed. The empty containers will be handed over to steamer agent plots after destuffing of materials. While executing this operation we have to pay the steamer, incidental and transportation charges. Then we will raise the bill after the whole operation completed.

So far our financial needs are meet by internal resources and advances from our customers. Sometimes our customer directly pay the actual charges. But due to stiff competition, And price raising and customer unwillingness to pay advance we have try for alternative fund sourcing.
